WARD PANEL MEETING 23/09/2026 - SUMMARY

Good afternoon, everyone

Mile End SNT would like to thank all and each of our community members as well as our partnership agencies and their representatives for attending our recent Ward Panel Meeting taking place last WED. on 23/09/2026

Thank you for your contribution and high attendance ! Once again, We would like to thank each one of you !

To summarize the meeting : 

We discussed many ongoing or arising safety issues including noise pollution at Thomas Road and St. Pauls Way.

Mile End SNT officers will be arranging more Speed gun operations covering affected neighbourhood areas and talk to the local Council about possible increase of CCTV across Mile End Ward.

We covered such issues as ongoing drug use and dealing around Copenhagen Place and Pigott Street as well as burglaries occurring at Hamlets Way and surrounding areas.

These problems are important to us and we will take our sincere efforts to tackle it appropriately and help to reduce and minimize them in the period ahead.

We will provide as many foot and vans patrols as practically possible around Ackroyd Drive, Leopold Street, Joseph Street, Baythorne Street and address any ASB issues occurring around these neighbourhood areas.

We obviously also covered discussing ASB issues related to such areas as Kildare Walk, Hind Grove, Gough Walk, Saracen and Canton Streets. We're all well aware about present circumstances but providing some reassurance SNT Officers will continue to work in order to improve the situation related to that neighbourhood areas as soon as practically possible. We hope that effects of our work would become clearly visible in the near future.

For the next three months we will focus our attention on BURGLARIES occurring around our ward and try to share some crime prevention advice on the subject in order to increase general awareness and improve the safety in the neighbourhood areas which may be potentially affected in such a negative way. Visible foot patrols conducted by SNT officers will also follow.

Finally, during the meeting we managed to agree on such neighbourhood areas to become our MILE END WARD PRIORITIES and they are as follows :

We will look more closely at these neighbourhood areas and provide as many visible foot and van patrols as practically possible.

Lastly, our next Ward Panel Meeting will take place in December 2026 but we will advertise it prior to the upcoming date.
